Types of Bearing
Bearings are classified according to their function and characteristics, such as the needed speed and accuracy, axial, radial, and vertical loads, lubrication conditions, heat tolerance, installation space, usage environment, and so on.
Ball bearing: bearings with a spherical moving component (ball)
Deep groove ball bearing
These bearings are used in a wide variety of applications; they are the most common and are appropriate for high and extremely high speeds. They can accommodate moderate radial loads as well as axial loads and require little maintenance.
Angular contact ball bearings
Internal and external rings in these bearings move relatively to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. This means that these bearings are built to endure radial and axial loads as well as combined loads. The axial load bearing capability is directly related to the size of their contact angle.
Self-aligning ball bearings
These bearings are made up of two rows of balls, each with a groove on the outer ring and two grooves ON the inner ring. They are less affected by misalignment. As a result, they are appropriate for applications where there is a risk of error owing to installation or shaft deviation.
Roller bearings: Bearings with a NON-SPHERICAL moving part
Cylindrical roller bearings
In these bearings the rolling element is cylindrical instead of spherical. this will enhance the bearing load capacity and makes the bearing performance steadier. Roller bearings, on the other hand, are not ideal for heavy axial loads.
